Topography, ecosystem:
Thanh Hoa province has all kinds of topography and ecosystems, including Midlands - Mountains, Delta, and Coastal regions. Each region has its characteristics.

Climate:
Thanh Hoa is located in the tropical monsoon climate with a cool, mild climate with 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

Natural resources:
Thanh Hoa owns rich natural resources such as land, forests, and sea, which is very convenient for developing different industries, construction, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, services, and tourism.






Thanh Hoa province owns 5 types of transportation, including roads, railways, inland waterways, sea and air roads.
The total length is approximately 28,645 km, including: one expressway of 98.8 km; 13 national highways of 1,366.7 km; 79 provincial roads of 1,798.5 km; and other roads of 25,381 km. Major routes running through the area include the North–South Expressway; the Coastal Road; National Highway 1A; Ho Chi Minh Road; National Highways 47, 217, and 15C connecting Thanh Hoa Province with Laos; and National Highways 10, 15, and 45 connecting Thanh Hoa with Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, and others.
Nghi Son deep-sea port is a type-I national general port and has the potential to develop into a notable seaport. Currently, it has 35 operating piers, buoys, and anchoring areas totaling 5,343m. It received the most significant ship with a tonnage of 320,000 tons and can receive 100,000 DWT ships. The goods that passed through the port in 2023 reached 46.1 million tons (45.8 million tons passed through Nghi Son port). There are 02 shipping lines (CMA - CGM shipping lines and VIMC shipping company) operating international container transport routes from Nghi Son to Europe, the US, and Singapore.
The North-South railways running through Thanh Hoa province are 103.5 km long with 10 stations, including 02 main stations (Thanh Hoa and Bim Son stations). The high-speed railway on the North-South axis section through Thanh Hoa province has a length of 95.2 km that is expected to begin construction from 2026 to 2030.
Tho Xuan Airport currently exploits nine domestic routes to Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Can Tho, Lam Dong, Kien Giang, Binh Dinh, Con Dao, Da Nang, and Buon Ma Thuot. It is planned to be a resort for Noi Bai International Airport. It also opens international Charter flights to Thailand, Japan, Korea, and Singapore and is planned to become an international airport by 2030.
Power supply: Currently, the province has 19 power plants in operation, with a total capacity of 2,488.4 MW, including: 11 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 607.7 MW; 1 solar power plant with a capacity of 30 MW; 3 biomass power plants with a total capacity of 47.7 MW; 2 thermal power plants (Nghi Son 1, 2) with a total capacity of 1,800 MW.
Power grid / Electricity grid:
500kV Power grid: Currently, one 500kV substation (of Nghi Son 2 Power Plant) with a capacity of 900 MVA is in operation, and one 500kV substation (in Thieu Tien Commune) with a capacity of 1,800 MVA is under construction; 500kV transmission lines with a total length of 289.34 km.
220kV power grid: supplied by 4 substations of 220kV with a total installed capacity of 1,750 MVA.
110kV power grid: currently has 60 lines of 110kV with a total length of 1,047.32 km and 36 substations of 110kV with a total installed capacity of 2,600.5 MVA.
Medium-voltage power grid: 256 medium-voltage lines with a total length of 7,367.19 km.

Ecotourism and community tourism sites in the mountainous areas of Thanh Hoa: Thac May (Thach Quang Commune), Pu Luong Nature Reserve (Co Lung Commune), Ben En National Park (Nhu Thanh Commune), Cam Luong Sacred Fish Stream (Cam Tu Commune), Ban Ma (Thuong Xuan Commune), Ban Hang (Phu Le Commune)…
Thanh Hoa currently has 300 cultural festivals and 858 classified historical–cultural sites and scenic spots, including: 1 world cultural heritage site, 5 special national monuments, 139 national monuments, and 713 provincial-level sites.


Some outstanding spots are Lam Kinh National Special Monuments, the Citadel of the Ho Dynasty, a World cultural heritage site, Ba Trieu Special National Monuments Complex, and the Dong Son and Ham Rong historical relics.
Currently, there is one golf course in operation; by 2030, plans are to develop 13 golf courses associated with high-end resort tourism and eco-urban areas in Sam Son Ward, Hoang Tien, Quang Yen, Nhu Thanh, Ba Thuoc, Cam Tu, Sao Vang Communes, and Nghi Son Economic Zone…





Financial and banking services, transportation services, worker housing, amusement parks, etc., are distributed widely in the province to meet the needs of agencies, organizations, enterprises, and local people.
